The museum occupies a circular building designed by Mario Botta, featuring a 40-meter wide glass and steel dome that floods natural light into the central plaza.
Founded in 1987 as an autonomous institution of Trentino Province, the museum moved to its current location in 2002 after operating at Palazzo delle Albere in Trento.
The permanent collection contains 20,000 artworks, including significant pieces from Giorgio de Chirico, Carlo Carrà, Mario Sironi, and Fortunato Depero from the 20th century avant-garde movements.
Located at Corso Angelo Bettini 43, the museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with extended hours until 21:00 on Fridays.
The museum complex integrates three separate locations: the main building in Rovereto, the Futurist House Depero, and the Civic Gallery in Trento.
