San Romedio Sanctuary, Religious sanctuary on limestone cliff in Predaia, Italy.
Five connected churches and chapels rise vertically along a 70-meter limestone cliff, linked by 131 stone steps and wooden walkways.
The sanctuary started with a chapel built over Saint Romedius's tomb in 1000, gradually expanding with additional structures until the final church in 1918.
The January 15 celebration draws numerous pilgrims who participate in traditional masses and share meals according to local customs.
The site receives 35,000 visitors annually, with guided tours available through advance reservations and a footpath connecting to Sanzeno village.
A brown bear lives in an enclosure at the base of the sanctuary, commemorating the legend of Saint Romedius taming a wild bear.
