Santa Maria Arabona, Medieval Cistercian abbey in Manoppello, Italy
The stone church displays Romanesque architecture with three naves supported by pillars and ogival arches, featuring a rose window on the east wall.
The abbey construction started in 1197 after a land donation by counts Gentile and Maniera of Palearia to monk Pietro from Sant'Anastasio alle Acque Salvie.
The presbytery contains a 13th-century tabernacle with floral reliefs and a six-meter-tall Easter candle decorated with complex religious symbols.
The religious site maintains regular opening hours for visitors who can explore both the church interior and the surrounding garden with its central fountain.
The abbey walls preserve frescoes from 1373 signed by Antonio di Atri, depicting religious figures in the Abruzzese painting tradition.
