Fattoria di Celle

Fattoria di Celle is a sculpture garden and modern art museum near Pistoia that spreads across a large estate with more than 80 artworks throughout the grounds. The property features historic buildings from earlier centuries alongside contemporary art installations placed both in open spaces and among the architecture.

The property was originally a villa belonging to the noble Fabbroni family until an entrepreneur named Giuliano Gori purchased it in the 1970s. From that point onward, the estate was gradually transformed into the art park it is today.

Artists from around the world created works directly for this place, thinking about how their art would sit within the land and buildings. You can see how these pieces feel like they belong to the surroundings rather than just being placed there.

The site is open from May through September and requires advance reservations for guided group tours, so planning ahead is important. The grounds are spread out across a large area, so wearing comfortable shoes and clothes is a good idea.

The property has operated an organic farm since 2019, blending art viewing with the working rhythms of agricultural production. This combination of art park and functioning farmland creates an uncommon experience that shapes how visitors encounter the place.
