Urbino obelisk, Egyptian obelisk near Ducal Palace in Urbino, Italy.

The red granite obelisk stands three meters tall with octagonal shape and four corners cut off, featuring hieroglyphic inscriptions on its sides.

Cardinal Alessandro Albani transported this 6th century BC Egyptian artifact from Rome to Urbino in 1737 to honor Pope Clement XI's birthplace.

The inscriptions on the south and east sides of the obelisk maintain texts dedicated to Pharaoh Wahibre and the goddess Isis.

Visitors can find this ancient monument on Via Aurelio Saffi, positioned directly next to the Gothic church of San Domenico.

The obelisk's body contains a distinct square stone girdle at its lower portion, which may be original or added during past repairs.
