Palazzo Bonaventura, Renaissance palazzo in Urbino, Italy.
Palazzo Bonaventura is a Renaissance palace located at the southern end of Piazza Rinascimento, distinguished by a Gothic stone portal. Connected to Palazzo Antaldi via Via Saffi, it now contains a classroom designed to accommodate around 20 students.
The palace originally belonged to the Counts Montefeltro in the 14th century and was transferred to the Bonaventura family by Federico in 1466. This transfer represented a significant shift in the ownership of Urbino's important properties.
The building now serves the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, hosting classrooms within its historical walls. Students and faculty move through these spaces daily, blending academic life with Renaissance architecture.
The building sits centrally on Piazza Rinascimento, making it easy to locate and integrate into a walking tour of the city. Keep in mind this is an active university facility, so access and opening times may vary depending on academic schedules.
A memorial plaque on the facade facing Piazza Rinascimento marks the visit of Italian poet Torquato Tasso, who was hosted here by Federico. This connection links the building to the city's literary history through an encounter with one of the era's most celebrated writers.
