Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, Rugby stadium in Parma, Italy.
Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi is a rugby union venue in the Moletolo sports complex in Parma, with a natural grass pitch and covered concrete grandstands. The ground seats around 5,000 spectators and was designed so that every row has a clear view of the playing field.
The original structure on this site was demolished in 2008 and replaced by the current purpose-built stadium. In 2015 the ground was renamed after Sergio Lanfranchi, a key figure in the development of Italian rugby.
The stadium is the home ground of Zebre Parma, the only professional rugby club in the region. On match days, loyal fans fill the stands and create an energy that feels quite different from the football culture that dominates most of northern Italy.
The stadium sits in the Moletolo sports complex on the northern edge of Parma and can be reached by local bus from the city center. On match days it is worth arriving a little early, as parking around the complex can fill up quickly.
Alongside rugby, the stadium regularly hosts American football games, which is rare for a purpose-built rugby ground in Italy. This makes it a meeting point for two sports that are each a minority interest in the country but share the same grass pitch.
