Parco delle Cascine, Public park in Florence, Italy

The park extends along the Arno River for 160 hectares, featuring broad meadows, tree-lined avenues, and dense woodland areas.

The Medici family established the park in 1563 as a farming estate, which later transformed into a public space under Elisa Bonaparte in 1809.

The Palazzina Reale, designed by Giuseppe Manetti in 1785, now houses the University of Florence Faculty of Agriculture within the park grounds.

Visitors can reach the park via Line T1 of the Florence tramway, which stops at Viale degli Olmi station from the central railway station.

The park contains 19,000 trees, including ancient specimens of English oaks, elms, maples, and a notable Ginkgo Biloba in Piazzale delle Cascine.
