Pinacoteca metropolitana di Bari

The Pinacoteca metropolitana sits in the Palazzo della Provincia right by the sea and holds artworks spanning from the 11th to the 20th century. The galleries organize sculptures, paintings, and contemporary pieces across different rooms and sections.

The museum opened in 1928 and moved to the Palazzo della Provincia by the waterfront in 1936. This relocation made the collection part of the city center and allowed artworks to be displayed in a landmark building.

The collection reflects how Italian artistic movements developed from medieval times to the 20th century through works displayed across the rooms. Visitors can trace the evolution of regional artistic traditions by walking through the galleries.
