Abbazia di San Zeno, Romanesque abbey in Verona, Italy.

The Abbey of San Zeno features three naves, wooden decorated ceilings, and red marble columns supporting arched structures throughout the complex.

Built in the 9th century over a 4th-century monastery, the abbey gained prominence during the Carolingian period under King Pepin and Bishop Rotaldo.

The abbey library housed 131 religious codices in 1318, reflecting its role as a center of medieval manuscript preservation and religious studies.

The monastery complex includes preserved cloisters, an abbey tower with frescoes, and multiple architectural elements from different construction periods.

In 1238, the abbey hosted the wedding of Emperor Frederick II's daughter to Ezzelino, with the emperor likely residing in the abbey tower.
