Castelvecchio Museum

Castelvecchio Museum occupies a fortress from the 1300s and displays medieval sculptures alongside Renaissance paintings, ancient weapons, and bronze bells across its interior spaces. The collection spreads through multiple sections of the building, connected by courtyards and bridges.

The fortress was built in the 1300s and served as a key defense structure for the city for centuries. Later it was repurposed during different periods of change in the region, which shaped how it looks today.
