San Luca, Baroque church in Verona, Italy
The San Luca church presents a stone facade completed in 1675, with a bell tower from 1760 and detailed interior decorations from the 18th century.
Founded in 1172 by the Knights of the Crucifix, San Luca transformed into a parish church in 1808 following Napoleon's suppression of the previous religious order.
The church contains multiple artistic works from the 18th century, including a dedicated chapel with frescoes depicting The Fallen on its left side.
San Luca opens daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and stands at Corso Porta Nuova, featuring a bell tower that marks the skyline of Verona.
Road widening initiatives in 1874 required partial demolition of the church structure, particularly affecting the altar dedicated to Saint Luke.
