Nostra Signora di Guadalupe e San Filippo Martire

Nostra Signora di Guadalupe e San Filippo Martire, Minor basilica and parish church in Aurelio, Rome, Italy.

Nostra Signora di Guadalupe e San Filippo Martire is a modern church with three naves divided by slender columns and reinforced concrete beams creating an open interior space. The presbytery features a monumental triumphal arch that frames a mosaic of Our Lady of Guadalupe surrounded by seven stars, with the tabernacle positioned below.

The church was designed by architect Gianni Mazzocca and constructed between 1955 and 1958, then consecrated by Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara in December 1958. It emerged as a modern place of worship built during Rome's post-war reconstruction period.

This church serves as Mexico's national parish in Rome and honors Saint Philip of Jesus, the first canonized saint born in Mexico. Devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe forms the spiritual heart of this space for the Mexican community worshipping here.

The church offers confession services typically available twenty minutes before each mass, and visitors can find regular adoration hours on Wednesdays and Fridays. These periods provide quiet time for personal prayer and reflection within the sanctuary.

The mosaics throughout the church display careful artistic work, particularly the portrayal of Our Lady of Guadalupe that serves as the central religious symbol for the gathered community. These artworks tell the story of Mexico's spiritual presence in Rome and how that tradition continues through worship here.
