The Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli stands with a single nave, featuring polygonal chapels and notable frescoes decorating its interior walls.
Built in 1469 following authorization from Pope Paul II, the basilica faced significant changes when Franciscan friars were expelled in 1803, leading to abandonment.
The interior houses valuable artworks including a Madonna with Child from 1502 and an Ecce Homo attributed to Paolo Caylina the Younger.
The basilica recorded varying visitor numbers through recent years, with 881 visitors in 2018 decreasing to 54 visitors by 2021.
The church contains a pipe organ installed in 1985, featuring a console with two keyboards and pedals in the preserved apse.
