Biblioteca civica Romolo Spezioli

The Biblioteca Romolo Spezioli occupies multiple floors of Palazzo degli Studi, featuring yellow-ochre plastering and Renaissance architectural elements throughout the building.

Cardinal Decio Azzolino established the library in 1688, creating a foundation for education that would serve the community for over three centuries.

The library maintains a collection of 3,000 manuscripts, 127 codices, and 300,000 documents, including rare printed editions that attract researchers worldwide.

The facility provides bibliographic research services, book consultations, photocopying capabilities, and inter-library loans for both local residents and visiting scholars.

The Globe Room contains the original nucleus of the library with walnut wood shelves from 1688 and houses a handwritten globe created in 1713.
