Castle of Monaselice, Medieval castle complex in Monselice, Italy

The Castle of Monselice contains four distinct sections, including the 11th-century Casa Romanica, the 12th-century Castelletto, and the 13th-century Torre Ezzeliniana.

Ezzelino III da Romano established the defensive structure in 914, which later transformed into a Venetian residence when the Marcello family acquired it in 1405.

The castle displays medieval and Renaissance collections, including period furniture, paintings, tapestries, and a substantial collection of arms in the Armoury section.

The regional museum opens from March through October between 9:00-11:00 and 15:00-17:00, with winter hours shifting afternoon visits to 14:00-16:00.

The Torre Ezzeliniana features monumental fireplaces, which represent an architectural innovation unmatched elsewhere in Italy during the medieval period.
