Monte Ricco

Monte Ricco is a mountain summit in Veneto that rises 330 meters above sea level with expansive views across the surrounding landscape. From its peak, visitors can see soft rolling hills, distant snow-capped peaks, and the wide Po Valley floor stretching below.

The summit housed a fortress in medieval times, with ruins from the 12th century still visible at its peak. A storage cistern was built between the 13th and 14th centuries to serve those stationed at this elevated location.

The mountain holds significance for local communities as a natural landmark, connecting generations through shared experiences and outdoor recreational activities.

Several trailheads provide access to the mountain with marked pathways suited to different ability levels. Rest areas are scattered along the routes where hikers can take breaks and enjoy the views.

The fortress was positioned specifically to oversee the town of Asolo and the surrounding region from its vantage point. This strategic placement made the peak a valuable observation post whose commanding views remain one of the visit's main rewards.
