Torre Franca Castle, Medieval castle in Mattarello, Italy.
The castle features a quadrangular layout with four cylindrical towers at the corners and a tall square keep in the center of the structure.
The construction started in the 12th century by the Castelbarco family to control the road connecting Valle dell'Adige to Valsugana.
The castle represents a fusion of German and Mediterranean architectural influences, common in the Trentino region during the medieval period.
Located at Via della Torre Franca in Mattarello, the castle remains in private ownership and closed to public access.
During World War I, the castle served as an Austro-Hungarian military hospital, marked by a red cross painted above the northwest portal.
