The Church of Saint Bartholomew is a place of worship featuring thick stone walls, rounded arches, and sturdy pillars characteristic of Romanesque design. These architectural elements define the building's structure from its exterior to its interior layout.

The church dates to the mid-13th century, built in Romanesque style; the source records no Dominican founding or 1338 consecration. Two Gothic portals and reused elements from other periods point to restorations carried out at different times. The nearby Torre Terzano, part of the defensive walls, was restored in the 15th century by the Monforte and damaged in the 1805 earthquake.

The church keeps a stone station cross originally set on the churchyard, carved between the 14th and 15th centuries. Inside hangs Paolo De Matteis's painting 'La Crocifissione', a work by a leading master of the Neapolitan Baroque. Next to the church stands the 13th-century Torre Terzano, restored in the 15th century by the Monforte; a 16th-century legend tells of Delicata Civerra and Fonzo Mastrangelo, children of the rival Trinitari and Crociati families.

The tower is cut off on the inner side of the walls, where it joined a gate of the defensive system damaged in the 1805 earthquake and later dismantled. Look for the two Gothic portals and the stone cross kept inside, originally placed on the churchyard and dating between the 14th and 15th centuries.
