The Norman Count Geoffrey of Conversano established this religious edifice in 1088, which received its minor basilica status through a papal declaration in 2011.
The interior holds wooden choir stalls from 1793 by Raffaele Monteanni and an altar dedicated to the Glory of Saint Joseph Desa with works by Gianserio Strafella.
The basilica maintains regular visiting hours and welcomes both individual visitors and organized groups throughout the year for religious services and contemplation.
A 35-meter bell tower, constructed between 1588 and 1596, stands divided into two distinctive orders with notable sculptural elements.
