The Chiesa del Luogo Pio features a rectangular layout measuring 18 meters long and 9 meters wide with a simple gabled facade and decorative elements.
Built between 1713 and 1715 by architect Giovanni del Fantasia, the church initially served as part of an orphanage complex for young girls in Livorno.
The structure now functions as a component of the Museo della Città, hosting contemporary art installations, conferences, and cultural gatherings throughout the year.
Located near the Bottini dell'Olio museum complex, the church stands in a pedestrian square that previously served as a parking area until 2020.
The church walls contain grates that allowed orphans from the adjacent institution to attend religious ceremonies without direct interaction with other attendees.
