Chiesa di San Miro

Chiesa di San Miro is a Romanesque church with three naves divided by pillars, each ending in a quadrangular apse. A square bell tower rises at the southeast corner of the building.

The church was originally dedicated to Saint Michael and underwent significant transformation in the mid-15th century. This expansion followed the discovery of Saint Miro's remains within the building.

The interior walls display frescoes from different periods, showing images of Madonna with Child and scenes of the Crucifixion. These paintings reveal what local people valued and how their religious life evolved over time.

The site sits on a hillside and can be reached by walking along an ancient mule track that branches from the Antica Via Regina. The path takes some time to explore and offers a chance to see the surrounding landscape.

The right nave holds the oldest bell in the Diocese of Como, cast in 1523. This bronze bell stands as one of the few examples of medieval bell-casting work that remains in its original location.
