The Santa Maria Annunziata church contains frescoes depicting scenes from the life of St Frances of Rome across its interior walls.
The church dates back to the 14th century, mentioned in documents of Popes Boniface VIII and Clement VI, and was granted to the Oblates in 1433.
The monastery houses 15th-century frescoes illustrating 25 different scenes of Roman life painted by artists from Antoniazzo Romano's workshop.
The church opens to visitors only on March 9th, during the feast day of St Frances of Rome and the traditional Blessing of the Ointment.
The monastery's atrium retains its original stable structure, including an ancient manger and a Roman sarcophagus lid used for distributing supplies.
