San Bartolomeo, Collegiate church in Busseto, Italy.

San Bartolomeo is a collegiate church in Busseto with a striking red brick facade and terracotta decoration. The interior impresses with elaborate Baroque stucco work created by renowned artists of the period.

The building was founded in 1437 at the initiative of nobleman Orlando Pallavicino, who transformed it from a simple parish church into a respected collegiate church. This transformation was part of the town's cultural development in the Late Middle Ages.

The church displays a significant art collection from the 16th century on its walls. Visitors can discover religious paintings here that shaped the community's daily prayer life and continue to enliven the interior today.

The church sits centrally at the intersection of Via Roma and Via P. Balestro and is easy to reach on foot. As an active Catholic place, it welcomes visitors regularly, so it is worth checking opening hours in advance.

The church's treasury collection preserves an impressive processional cross made of gilded silver from 1524. This precious object was crafted by two goldsmiths from Parma and is a rare example of local Renaissance metalwork.
