The church features a Gothic brick facade with terracotta decorations and an interior filled with Rococo stucco work by Rusca and Bossi.
Orlando Pallavicino initiated the reconstruction of San Bartolomeo in 1437, transforming it from a simple church into a collegiate institution.
The church contains fifteen paintings of the Mysteries of the Rosary created by Vincenzo Campi between 1576 and 1581.
San Bartolomeo stands at the intersection of Via Roma and Via P. Balestro, serving as an active Roman Catholic church in the Diocese of Fidenza.
The collegiate treasury holds a gold-plated silver processional cross made in 1524 by Parma goldsmiths Jacopo Filippo and Damiano Da Gonzate.
