Forte Quezzi, 18th century fort in Genoa, Italy.

Forte Quezzi is an 18th-century fortification perched on a strategic hill overlooking Genoa, built with thick stone walls and defensive structures. The installation features gun emplacements, bastions, and multiple levels designed to command views of the surrounding territory.

The fort was built in 1747 as part of Genoa's wider defense system against external threats. It served as an active military post until it was eventually abandoned.

The fort displays military architecture of the 1700s through its stone structures positioned in the hills around Genoa. The layout of walls and passages shows how defense installations were designed to protect the city during that era.

Visiting requires a hike uphill since the fort sits above the city and is not accessible by road. The best time to explore is early morning or late afternoon when visibility is clearest.

The fort was deliberately positioned on high ground to monitor access routes to the city and remains relatively unknown to most tourists today. This obscurity gives the place an authentic feeling, away from crowded visitor paths.
