Monte Beni

Monte Beni rises to 1,264 meters above sea level, featuring steep slopes covered with beech forests and rocky outcrops in the northern Apennine range.

The mountain's plateau, known as Buca delle Fate, contains ruins of an Ubaldini fortress that controlled ancient routes between Mugello and Monghidoro regions.

The mountain stands as a natural boundary between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, representing the geological heritage of the Apennine mountain chain.

Hikers can reach the summit through a marked trail starting from Covigliaio village, following a traditional mule track through changing vegetation zones.

From the peak, visitors observe the Adriatic Sea to the northeast and the Alps to the north during clear winter days, spanning two distinct geographical regions.
