Monte Chiappo is a mountain summit in the northern Apennines that rises to 1,699 meters. The peak features steep slopes and grassy areas typical of this mountain range, with natural rock formations along its ridges.

The summit is a tripoint where the borders of Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna meet, with a statue of Saint Joseph placed at the crossing. The Lombard Via del Sale, the salt road from Pavia to Genoa, ran over the mountain along the ridge between the Boreca and Borbera valleys; its marked route is still followed by hikers.

The summit holds a statue of Saint Joseph at the point where the borders of Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna meet. The Lombard Via del Sale, the salt road from Pavia to Genoa, crossed Monte Chiappo; hikers still follow its waymarks along the ridge. Cattle graze the Piedmontese and Emilian slopes for milk and cheese.

The summit can be reached via marked hiking paths from several starting points in the surrounding valleys. A mountain refuge is located nearby for those who need shelter or want to plan a longer visit.

On the summit stands a statue of Saint Joseph, placed at the point where the borders of Pavia, Alessandria and Piacenza provinces meet. The Rifugio Monte Chiappo (1699 m) also stands on the peak, and the old Lombard salt road from Pavia to Genoa crossed the mountain along the ridge between Val Boreca and Val Borbera.
