The Museo della Bonifica is a history and ethnographic museum in San Donà di Piave, housed in a former Clarisse convent. It displays tools, maps, photographs, and everyday objects that document how people managed water and land around the Piave river over the centuries.
The building was originally a Clarisse convent built in 1967, then expanded in 1998 with European Union funding. The museum was fully renewed in 2018, and in 2021 a new section on the Great War and water management was added.
The museum is on Viale Primavera in San Donà di Piave and is easy to reach on foot from the town center. Opening hours vary between summer and the rest of the year, so checking before your visit is a good idea.
The museum serves as a visitor center for the Walk of Peace, a trail connecting First World War sites across several countries. It also acts as the hub of an ecomuseum that extends into the surrounding landscape beyond the city.
