Museo di Piana delle Orme

The Piana delle Orme Museum contains 50,000 artifacts distributed across 16 pavilions of 1,500 square meters each, arranged in two parallel rows.

The museum comprehensively documents the Anzio Landing during World War II and the transformation of the Pontine Marshes through military equipment and agricultural machinery.

Each exhibition hall presents traditional farming methods, including detailed displays of wine, oil, bread, and cheese production techniques from the Italian agricultural heritage.

The museum requires advance reservations, features wheelchair accessibility throughout the premises, and received 23,000 visitors during its peak year in 2019.

The collection includes a modified M4 Sherman tank called 'Paperino' and a maritime patrol aircraft Lockheed PV-2 'Harpoon' from the Italian Air Force.
