Palazzo Pretorio, Medieval art museum in Certaldo, Italy
The Palazzo Pretorio museum displays an extensive collection of Etruscan artifacts, Roman remains, and medieval artworks across multiple exhibition spaces.
Built between 1117 and 1164, the palace served as the residence of the Alberti Counts before becoming a public building under Florentine control.
The museum preserves frescoes from the Tabernacle of the Executed by Benozzo Gozzoli alongside works by Pier Francesco Fiorentino in its permanent collection.
Visitors can purchase a combined ticket for Palazzo Pretorio, Casa del Boccaccio, and the Museum of Sacred Art for 7 euros.
The courtyard features a Japanese garden with a tea house designed by artist Hidetoshi Nagasawa, integrating Eastern elements into the medieval setting.
