Cardinal Antonio Zapata, who served as Viceroy from 1620 to 1622, established his residence in the palace after extensive renovations of the structure.
The Circolo Artistico Politecnico, operating within Palazzo Zapata for over 125 years, maintains a collection of artworks and organizes cultural exhibitions.
