Piazza del Plebiscito, Central square in Naples, Italy

The 25,000-square-meter plaza features the Royal Palace of Naples and the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola with its curved colonnade.

Originally named Largo del Palazzo, the square received its current name after the 1860 plebiscite marking Naples' annexation to the Kingdom of Italy.

The square contains two bronze equestrian statues representing Charles III and Ferdinand IV of Bourbon, created following the Napoleonic period.

The pedestrian area connects to Via Toledo and stands near Municipio metro station, with several bus lines providing additional access.

Local tradition includes a challenge where people attempt to cross the square blindfolded, made difficult by its irregular surface and slight incline.
