Palazzo dell'ex collegio aeronautico, Educational building in Forlì, Italy.
Palazzo dell'ex collegio aeronautico is a reinforced concrete building with rationalist architecture in Forlì, featuring two inner courtyards and an adjacent plaza. It is now part of Marco Palmezzano School and can be accessed from several sides through entrances at Piazzale della Vittoria and Viale Roma.
Built in 1937 under architect Cesare Valle's direction, the building initially served as Italy's first aeronautical institute during the pre-war period. It was later converted into a school and has since remained an important example of rationalist architecture from that era.
The entrance hall displays murals depicting aviation history between the World Wars, created by artists from the Spilimbergo School. These artworks continue to shape the visual character of the main entrance today.
The building is accessible from different locations, with main entrances at Piazzale della Vittoria and Viale Roma. Visitors should note that this is an active school site and access may be limited depending on school schedules.
The Aula Mappamondi room preserves hand-drawn world maps on its walls, offering a fascinating geographic record from the school's earlier period. A second-floor former science classroom still displays the periodic table painted on its wall.
