Parco naturale di Rimigliano, Coastal nature park in San Vincenzo, Italy.
Parco naturale di Rimigliano spans 650 hectares along the Tuscan coast, featuring pine forests, oak trees, sandy dunes, and Mediterranean vegetation. A provincial road divides the territory into connected zones that create a mosaic of natural landscapes.
The protected area was established in 1973 after the land had previously served wood processing purposes. Official designation initiated intensive restoration efforts for the oak and pine forests.
The park combines nature protection with public recreation, offering paths through Mediterranean vegetation where visitors encounter squirrels and wild rabbits. These wildlife encounters shape the experience while walking through the natural habitats.
Access is available through multiple entry points along a main road, with free and paid parking areas near the coastline. A network of well-marked trails allows visitors to explore the park independently.
A Caretta Caretta sea turtle selected the park's beach in 2018 to lay eggs, with 58 hatchlings successfully reaching the sea. This rare event made the site an important nesting ground for this endangered species.
