Riserva naturale Valle dell'Orfento

Riserva naturale Valle dell'Orfento is a protected nature reserve carved by deep gorges and limestone rock formations, with dense forests covering much of the terrain. A river winds through the valley, connecting different zones within this conservation area in the Abruzzo region.

The reserve was established in 1971 to protect the natural diversity of the Abruzzo region. This decision marked an early effort in southern Italy to safeguard endangered ecosystems.
