Teatrino della Baldracca, Historic theatre in Via dei Castellani, Florence, Italy

The Teatrino della Baldracca occupies the first floor of a palace near the Arno River, featuring a stage and latticed boxes for spectators.

Established in 1576, this theatre originated in the customs house building and remained active until the latter part of the 17th century.

The venue specialized in Commedia dell'Arte performances by professional actors, including the renowned Francesco and Isabella Andreini of the Gelosi Company.

The theatre accommodated 300 spectators who entered through a small door on Via Castellani, hidden in the courtyard of Palazzo dei Veliti.

The Grand Duke and nobles watched performances through latticed boxes, maintaining anonymity during the sometimes risqué entertainment.
