Hypogeum of Sant'Iroxi, Archaeological burial site in Decimoputzu, Italy.

The Hypogeum of Sant'Iroxi contains three underground chambers where archaeologists discovered remains of 180 individuals in fetal positions.

Discovered in 1987 during gymnasium construction, this burial structure remained active from 3000 BC through multiple cultural periods until 1600 BC.

The burial site revealed 19 copper arsenate weapons, including swords reaching 66 centimeters in length, indicating advanced metallurgy skills of ancient inhabitants.

The National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari maintains the artifacts recovered from the site, while the structure remains closed to public visits.

Archaeological studies identified 13 distinct chronological layers of burials, connecting this site to both Sardinian Ozieri culture and Spanish El Argar civilization.
