Villa Grabau

Villa Grabau is a neoclassical estate near Lucca featuring a Renaissance gallery with three ground floor arcades overlooking the valley at the base of the Pizzorne Mountains. The nine-hectare grounds include a baroque lemon loggia, gardens, pools, and a theater formed by box tree hedges.

The villa's origins trace back to the early 15th century when the merchant family Diodati acquired it and later redesigned it during the Renaissance period. The property subsequently passed to the Orsetti counts and later to the Cittadella marquises.

The interior walls display neoclassical frescoes featuring dancing nymphs and geometric patterns, while painted trompe-l'oeil curtains create the illusion of depth on the surfaces. These decorative details shape the character of the rooms and reflect the artistic tastes of past centuries.
