Cozzi swimming pool, Indoor swimming pool in Porta Venezia district, Milan, Italy
Cozzi is an indoor swimming facility in Milan with a 33-meter main pool and diving platforms at 5 and 10 meter heights within a monumental building. The structure accommodates around 680 swimmers under a large windowed roof system.
It opened in 1934 and was Italy's first public indoor swimming facility. The building represented a new approach to combining sport and monumental architecture.
Water-themed mosaics and expansive windows under the roof define how the space looks and feels when you walk through it.
You should know that swimming caps are required and the facility gets quite busy at peak times. Early morning or weekday visits tend to offer a less crowded experience.
The original technical systems from 1934 are still functioning today, showing how advanced engineering was at that time. Visitors can appreciate these preserved original components as part of the building's story.
