Casa Feltrinelli

Casa Feltrinelli is a ten-story residential building in Milan distinguished by symmetrical facades with large protruding windows. The structure combines Mazzano stone with pink Baveno granite, follows an L-shaped floor plan, and features a flat roof.

Built between 1934 and 1937, the structure pioneered advanced steel construction methods for residential buildings in Italy. Its skeletal framework was erected in just 70 working days, demonstrating a new approach to rapid and efficient building techniques.

The building represents a shift in how people wanted to live in the city, moving away from ornate older styles toward clean lines and modern comfort. It shows how rationalist design aimed to blend practical living with innovative thinking about space and form.

The entrance is located at Via Daniele Manin 37, with office and commercial spaces on the ground floor and basement levels. Residential apartments occupy the upper floors, making the building easy to navigate and understand at a glance.

A rooftop garden sits at the top of the building and is accessible from the penthouse apartment through a dedicated staircase. This hidden outdoor space is frequently overlooked by passersby but offers a quiet retreat above the busy streets below.
