Campanile di Mortegliano

The Campanile di Mortegliano stands 113.2 meters tall, making it the highest bell tower in Italy, with an octagonal base matching the adjacent cathedral.

The construction of this modern bell tower began on May 4, 1956, following the demolition of an older tower that existed near the church since 1490.

The bell tower marks daily prayers and community gatherings with its four bells, continuing centuries-old traditions of religious and social significance in Mortegliano.

Visitors can access the first terrace of the tower and obtain information at the tourist office in Piazza Verdi 13, which opens Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 13:30.

The structure features exposed reinforced concrete beams and pillars, representing a departure from traditional bell tower designs while maintaining its religious function.
