Marliani-Cicogna Palace, Palace and art collection in Busto Arsizio, Italy

The Marliani-Cicogna Palace is a two-story brick structure with stucco details located in central Busto Arsizio, featuring two internal courtyards and gardens on its northern side. Today it contains gallery spaces, a public library, and areas for cultural programming and community use.

Construction took place between 1624 and 1653, transforming a rural property into a noble residence under Count Luigi Marliani's direction. The Cicogna family later inherited the building and maintained it through subsequent generations.

The palace houses a civic art collection that residents use to understand local artistic traditions and heritage. The works displayed reflect the tastes and interests of the families who lived here over centuries.

The building is easily accessible with parking nearby and provides accessible entrances for most visitors. The layout with stairs and hallways allows for comfortable exploration, though you may want to allow extra time if navigating between floors.

Hidden wine cellars were discovered beneath the building during 2002 restoration work and now serve as exhibition spaces. These underground rooms reveal how vital wine storage was to the families who lived there long ago.
