Basilica di San Giovanni Battista, Minor Basilica in Busto Arsizio, Italy
The basilica features three naves divided by Ionic pillars, with barrel vaults and a facade adorned with paired Ionic pilasters and bronze doors.
Construction began in 1609 under architect Francesco Maria Richini, while the bell tower dates from 1400, making it the oldest part of the structure.
Eight large paintings along the central nave illustrate important moments from Saint John the Baptist's life, commissioned by the Marliani family.
The basilica maintains regular opening hours and offers marriage preparation courses every Saturday morning from January through December.
The mortorio chapel adjacent to the basilica contains visible remains through openings, exemplifying characteristics of Lombard baroque architecture.
