Casa Castiglioni, Art Nouveau palace in Busto Arsizio, Italy.
Casa Castiglioni is a three-story palace in Art Nouveau style with a symmetrical facade defined by four pilasters creating three vertical sections. The structure features elaborate decorative elements and ornamental details distributed across all levels of the facade.
Architect Silvio Gambini completed this palace in 1907, during a period of architectural innovation in northern Italy. The building emerged during a phase of urban development and cultural change in the region.
The building displays natural motifs such as chestnut leaves and fruit clusters in its decorations, which reflect the artistic style of the period. These plant-inspired elements appear throughout the walls and details, shaping the character of the facade.
The palace sits at Piazza Garibaldi in central Busto Arsizio and is easily accessible from main streets. A passage on the right side connects the interior courtyard with the square, helping with orientation when exploring.
Alessandro Mazzucotelli, a renowned metalworker, crafted the wrought iron elements for the central balcony and side loggia. These refined metalwork pieces are often overlooked details that add another layer of craftsmanship to the facade.
