Villa Dosso Pisani

Villa Dosso Pisani is a turn-of-the-century building on a hillside with multiple levels, equipped with a broad porch and columns that face the lakeshore. The facade combines decorative elements with a balanced structure, while the surrounding landscape frames the building.

Construction of the villa began in 1897 under architect Luigi Conconi and was completed in 1910, commissioned by writer Carlo Alberto Pisani Dossi. The project reflects the transition from the 1800s to the 1900s in Italian residential architecture.

The columns on the porch bear names of writers and artists who were close to the owner. These inscriptions tell of the intellectual circles in which the homeowner moved.

The building is privately owned and can only be viewed from the outside in limited ways, as dense vegetation blocks the view. Access is via Cardina Street, and you should respect the property boundaries.

Among the many columns on the portico stands one dedication that honors not a friend but a rival of the writer. This unexpected inscription shows a rare gesture of intellectual generosity.
