Villa Olmo, Neoclassical villa in Como, Italy
The grand Villa Olmo stands on the western shore of Lake Como, featuring a symmetrical facade with classical columns and ornate decorative elements.
Marquis Innocenzo Odescalchi commissioned Swiss architect Simone Cantoni to design this lakeside residence, which was built between 1797 and 1812.
The municipality of Como operates Villa Olmo as an exhibition center, hosting temporary art displays and cultural events throughout the year.
The lakeside gardens remain open to the public during daylight hours without admission fees, while the villa interior opens only during exhibitions.
The estate contains over 800 different tree species within its gardens, creating a rich botanical collection alongside Lake Como.
