San Giovanni Battista, Baroque minor basilica in Vittoria, Italy.
The San Giovanni Baptista basilica displays three horizontal levels on its facade, crowned by two small domes and adorned with Ionic and Corinthian capitals.
Built between 1695 and 1706 following the 1693 earthquake, the church replaced an earlier structure where 40 children lost their lives during the disaster.
The basilica contains numerous religious artifacts, including saint and martyr relics placed within the altar of Our Lady of Sorrows during the 1730s.
Located in Piazza Ferdinando Ricca in central Vittoria, the basilica functions as both a minor basilica and the main parish church of the community.
The basilica houses a remarkable pipe organ crafted by Donato Del Piano in 1748, positioned in the central nave of the church.
