Santa Maria del Lavello

Santa Maria del Lavello is a monastery in Calolziocorte that includes a single-nave church and two cloisters connected by stone columns. The complex sits along the Adda River, with cross-vaulted ceilings overhead and a layout designed for contemplative space.

The site began when the Servants of Mary from Bergamo discovered a spring beneath an ancient burial place and chose to build their church there. This discovery became the founding moment that shaped the religious complex and its location by the river.
