Spiaggia di Cala di Trana

Cala di Trana is a secluded beach in Palau, Sardinia, positioned between two large granite formations. The water displays shades of turquoise and emerald, while the sand has natural pink undertones.

Environmental organizations Legambiente and Goletta Verde recognized the beach by awarding it three sails for exceptional water quality and sand cleanliness. This recognition marks the location's importance for coastal protection efforts.

The Mediterranean shrubland framing the beach forms part of Sardinia's natural coastal landscape and shapes how visitors experience the place. Walking along the sand, you encounter wild vegetation and rock formations that give the location its untamed character.

The beach is accessible either by boat from Palau or via two unpaved paths requiring a 30 to 40 minute walk with sturdy footwear. The terrain is rough and rocky, so proper shoes are important for comfortable access.

The beach exists in its natural state with no facilities or development, facing the La Maddalena Archipelago across the water. Sand dunes behind the shoreline create a natural barrier that isolates the location from surrounding areas.
